Together in impietyMy love's an angel heaven-sent:
when skies are torn and Earth is rent
on spears of lightning she'll descend
to war with pious sacrament.
She dared to question That Which Is,
to place my station above His
and, thus, provoke divine affright:
and in His wrath she found delight.
Therefore, arraigned against her foe,
she was cast out and fell below.
In shadow she was thrown that night
but none could quench her perfect light –
I followed to her deep abode
and crossed the roiling Stygian flow,
for through that blackness I was led
by flames that drew me on ahead.
And so in our predicament
the future aeons will be spent
together in such harmony:
we share our dear impiety.
