Eternal HopeSoftest mist's sweet partingEternal Hope by *Gary-thedreamingpoet
Reveals this seekers goal
An end to mine heart's aching
For thee shalt make me whole
Stars bow down in wonder
Lord sun doth cease to move
Winds grow still and whisper
For God's own hand is proved
In thine image beauty
It's meaning doth convey
And in thine eyes a story
That moves my soul to pray
Thy pure heart so gentle
Such perceptive spirit holds
Tongues of angels tell
How God hath broke thy mold
Walking in gold sunlight
Thy radiance brighter shines
What poor poet could recite
Perfection so divine?
Woulds't that I could love thee
With tenderness touch thy cheek
Should mine heart act boldly?

The Poets GoodbyeThe wind blown leaf is deadThe Poets Goodbye by *Gary-thedreamingpoet
Both life and strength undone
Words echo in the poet's head
And it seems the end has won
To soar on ink stained wings
Memories must suffice
No more dreaming soul to sing
For all the world is ice
Quill that wrote lies broken
Poor inkwell drained and dry
The cruel fates have spoken
No need to sit and cry
Paper poems burning
Lost words that painted life
Silent poet yearning
Surrendering to strife
Chasing after rainbows
Still clinging on to hope
Sleep then in falling snow
And watch your dreams elope
Leaf that keeps on clinging
Fall gently to the ground
No more songs for singing
Cold winds the onl

True HorrorYou touch me oh, so gentlyTrue Horror by *Gary-thedreamingpoet
Your tender fingers trace
Exploring every contour
Upon this careworn face
Kiss that's starts so softly
As I'm held in your embrace
I feel your ardor rising
As my very soul you taste
Your passion is consuming
I feel the depth of need
Desperately you hold me
Is this love, or greed?
You suck the feelings from me
Bring numbness in your wake
No mercy and no pity
No care for heavens sake
Dye billowing in the water
I feel your poison spread
Killing all emotion
Your palace is my head
Dragged into your darkness
My heart it feels so dead
Life on autopilot
Addicted to my bed
Then through this foul, bla

Home?Across the sea of hope and fearHome? by *Gary-thedreamingpoet
Far beyond the spires of faith
A memory flickers in the dark
Like a fading, tremulous wraith
Sweet echoes sing unto my soul
With such treacherous siren calls
Tainted love that baits the trap
And beckons the heart to fall
Then like the rays of golden dawn
Rising beauty lights my sky
Through this veil of silver tears
A heavenly rainbow flies
Soaring through cerulean blue
On a mystic chariot of fire
I follow where the colors lead
And splendor would inspire
I feel my spirit soaring
Sacred steed with wings of flame
A universe unfolding
And stardust for a frame
Stars and planets dying
Yet others

The Echoes of LoveThe wheels of time are turningThe Echoes of Love by *Gary-thedreamingpoet
Life's tide it slowly ebbs
And the best of life is dreaming
For love is surely dead
Cold, brown earth is barren
The tree's are stark and bare
Wet, brown leaves decaying
Does hope shine anywhere?
I hear the faintest echo
Fading memories of love
Journeying on the wind
To somewhere far above
The strength of youth is fading
Just as the winter sun
Time is undefeated
And some battles can't be won
Loneliness is poison
It seeps into your bones
In my heart a palace
That holds an empty throne
Yet on the tides of sleep
The world of dreams doth reign
I ride a swan to Avalon
Where nothing seems the sam

Poets Are Born When Hearts BreakOn blue savannah plainsPoets Are Born When Hearts Break by *Gary-thedreamingpoet
Below a crimson sky
Sings an azure willow
She's simply asking 'why?'
Among the yellow buds
Lay broken hearts so red
Each so very wounded
They surely must be dead
Blue grass bends in sorrow
Green parrots sing sad songs
Elven folk stand crying
For a world so full of wrong
Sunbeams kiss the dying
The moon sends healing dust
Angels sew the deep wounds
Of those who gave in trust
Faery folk bring new wings
And very special gifts
Eyes that see a thousand worlds
And words men's souls to lift
Healed, these hearts are rising
Composing ballads for the stars
Newborn poets flying

Unspoken...by *unwantedifell I hide the deepest turmoil Deny the grip of pain Live with love unspoken Whilst teardrops fall like rain Living on thy margins Absorbing radiant grace Whilst another holds thee I can but see thy face Foolish flightful heart Oh cupid, king of fools Why deign this hopeless love This beautiful, poisonous jewel Cursed above all men This lonely heart dost roam To feel the tide of love But never call thee mine own |

I wanted to grow old with youI wanted to grow old with you:I wanted to grow old with you by *DanielDGriffiths
turn grey and fade away, subdued.
To walk with you through all the years
and face, as one, our darkest fears.
We'd burn too brightly for this Earth
and share in sorrow and in mirth;
to each the other's soul would bare
and twice the love, at once, declare.
For each would know the other's mind
and there a perfect solace find;
we would be two, though as one known –
discrete though merged & mingled grown.
I wanted to grow old, it's true:
turn grey and fade to dust with you.

I must have done some awful wrongI must have done some awful wrong,I must have done some awful wrong by *DanielDGriffiths
such as can't be voiced in song,
to be cast out in favour of
another life, that knows no love.
I must have done some awful thing,
the like of which the Devil sings,
to be abandoned in this way
and left to wrack & disarray.
I must be made of deepest sin,
the very worst that ever was,
for pious men cannot begin
to fathom my desertion's cause.
I must have done some awful deed
for her to turn so far from me.

Every momentEvery moment is precious,Every moment by *DanielDGriffiths
every second together
worth a lifetime,
and we'll cling to each as though
it is the last:
for experience has taught us
that it often is.
Each waking breath
strung out
and cherished –
the only reason to succumb
to sleep
is to wake in each other's arms.
The weight of every passing
heartbeat measured
in eternities,
and treasured in its shared
seclusion.

Remember meWill I endure?Remember me by *DanielDGriffiths
Will my words resonate?
A syllable or simple phrase
penetrate
the lonely distance
of the empty space,
between unspoken
entwined fates?
Or, round the
vast, unbroken void
circumnavigate
and, uninvited,
displace some other
wretched face.
I'll leave this written
here, to wait –
a dark, mishapen inky trace:
a jagged stain
upon the page.
I Wonder If You Think Of Meby *DanielDGriffiths I wonder if you think of me For even just a trice each day? A passing thought, a memory, Or did my words just fade away? Since first I laid my eyes on you My ev'ry contemplation's been Of where you are and what you do – What sounds you hear, what sights you see. I hope that you are well, my love, With friends around who care for you; Who comfort you when times are tough With tender words and purpose true. I ask wherever you may be Do your thoughts ever turn to me? I wonder if you dream of me Maybe now and then at night? Or did my face from your mind flee When I was hurried from your sight? It seems that I'm fore'er avowed Each time I close my eyes to see Your smile – as that first time I found It still has such a hold on me. But do you ever think of times When we were once together bound? For once our thoughts were close entwined Our souls about each other wound. But now that you have broken free Do your thoughts ever turn to me? ![]() |
